Eddy Non-Certified Double Bar Cheater Cage

I recently ordered this cage to replace a dented straight-bar cage. I acquired my helmet from the original purchaser, and over the years it had obviously taken a few puck impacts directly. I finally got tired of looking at the game thru crooked bars, and settled on the Cheater cage after comparing all of the cages that were offered via Goalieparts. The cage itself is very well constructed. I did get the simple chrome version, so I can't speak to any of the custom powdercoat options. Absolutely flawless construction, and fit to the helmet shell. I did run into a little snag, with regard to the mounting points on my helmet shell, and the center 2 bars of this style cage being further apart than the straight bar, and apparently the cat eye versions as wee, from what I can see from the pictures. But a quick message and photo sent to Goalieparts, and Dennis responded that he thought he had a solution, utilizing some modified metal clips. Upon receipt of those clips, which offset from the screw hole location and allowed the clip to securely attach at the 2 bottom locations, I was able to finish the upgrade project, and am 100% happy with the end result. So far I have only had opportunity to wear the helmet around home, but I can already see the major difference in sight-lines , coming from the straight bar style. I look forward to my next game experience. The product, and Dennis/Goalieparts both get high rating from me.

This replaced the factory cage that was on my Vaughn ball hockey mask. It fit perfectly, the install was hassle free. Shipping time was very short. Love the style and the sight lines of the cheater are fantastic. .
